If you ever heard the sound of two people passionately arguing about whether “have been” is really necessary in that sentence—it was probably me and my English teacher.

Our lessons were never boring. They were a full-on drama series: comedy, conflict, character growth, and occasionally, grammar. We’ve had more debates than a UN summit, but through it all, one thing stayed constant—she never gave up on me.

I was never the student who dreamed of taking the Proficiency exam. I didn’t hate English, but I definitely didn’t want to spend my free time conjugating verbs. It just wasn’t my love language. But she knew how to speak my language—one of humor, patience, challenge, and care. Our relationship was built on passion, respect, and the kind of trust that comes from years of learning and growing together.

Fast forward to adulthood: I decide (plot twist!) to apply for a Master’s degree entirely in English. Terrifying? Yes. Impossible? Not with her. With remote lessons and her trademark support, I got in, graduated, and started building my HR career—communicating confidently in the language I once avoided.

She didn’t just teach me English. She helped me rewrite my entire story with the language—one that includes resilience, success, and the occasional “ugh, phrasal verbs again?”

If you want a teacher who will challenge you, believe in you, laugh with you (and maybe argue a little too), she’s the one. She doesn’t just teach—she transforms.
